Find Your True North
I need to tell you something I learned the hard way.In my final year with the Coast Guard, after 27 years of service, everything I'd built nearly came crashing down. I faced racism, bullying, and harassment that forced me to confront a truth I'd been avoiding. I was good at surviving pressure, but I was breaking under the weight of trying to be perfect for everyone else. That crisis became my breakthrough. It taught me that your biggest challenges aren't meant to destroy you. They're meant to rebuild you stronger. But only if you have the right tools and the right support at the right time. That's why this scholarship exists.
Two scholarships. Two people. $2,500 each.
I'm not just handing out money. I'm investing in people who remind me of who I was when I needed someone to believe in my transformation. Each recipient gets $2,500 in direct financial support, full access to my Calibrated Accelerator program (a $1,997 value), personal mentorship, a spotlight on our platforms, and a community of people who understand what it means to turn obstacles into opportunities.
Here's who I'm looking for:
You're between 18 and 35. Your household brings in less than $75,000 a year, and money is tight. You're in school or working on your professional development. But here's what really matters to me: you've been through something hard, and instead of letting it break you, you're using it to build yourself. Maybe you're a veteran like me, trying to figure out how civilian life works when everything you knew was military structure. Maybe you're the first person in your family to go to college and you're carrying everyone's dreams on your shoulders. Maybe you're a woman in a field where men don't think you belong. Maybe you've survived abuse, loss, mental health struggles, or circumstances that would have stopped someone with less fight in them. You don't have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to do the work and committed to using your story to help someone else down the road.
What I want to see:
Show me you've overcome real adversity. Not just inconvenience. Real challenges that tested who you are. Tell me about your leadership, whether that's official titles or just showing up for people when nobody else would. Let me see your academic or professional performance, especially if you achieved it despite everything working against you. And most importantly, help me understand that you get it. Transformation isn't just about you getting better. It's about you turning around and pulling someone else up.
How this works:
Applications open September 30, 2025. You've got until March 15, 2026 to submit. You'll fill out the initial application with your information, financial docs, records, and two people who can vouch for you. If you make it to the next round, you'll write about your transformation journey, where you're headed, and how you plan to impact your community. Final candidates sit down with me and my scholarship committee for a virtual interview.
Why I'm doing this:
I've spent my career helping people build resilience. I know what happens when someone gets the right support at exactly the moment they need it. Everything changes. Not just for them, but for everyone their life touches after that. The two people who receive this scholarship aren't just getting financial help. They're becoming proof that your worst moments can become your greatest strengths. They're joining a movement that says adversity doesn't get the final word. You do. I've seen people trapped in cycles of negative self-talk and people-pleasing find their voice and reclaim their power. I've watched veterans transition from military precision to civilian success. I've guided women through breaking free from perfectionism and men through learning that real strength includes vulnerability. And I've learned that the people who transform their own lives become the ones who transform their communities.
This could be you.
If you're reading this and something in your gut is telling you this is your moment, listen to that voice. Start preparing your story. Think about what
you've overcome and where you're going. Get your documents together. Talk to the people who've watched you grow. Because when September 30th hits, I want you ready. The world needs what you're going to become when you have the tools to build real, lasting resilience. Not the kind that just helps you survive. The kind that helps you thrive and then turn around and show someone else how to do the same.
That's what calibrated resilience is all about.
