Calibrated Kids™ help children ages 2 - 10 build the emotional skills they need to feel safe, understood, and ready for anything. Through books, songs, and stories designed specifically for neurodiverse learners, we give kids the language for their feelings and the tools toward through them.
Built by a veteran, behavioral science professional, and mom of three neurodiverse kids.
Most books and programs tell kids to "calm down" or "use your words" without providing them with a roadmap to get there. Calibrated Kids™ takes a different approach.
Every book, song, and story in the Calibrated Kids™ collection was created with neurodiverse learners in mind. Our content meets kids where they are, not where adults wish they were.
What makes Calibrated Kids different:

Every child is wired differently.
The Calibrated Kids™ Character Stories follow five children who each learn and experience the world in their own way. Each title is written to support emotional regulation, social connection, and self-understanding, with special attention to neurodiverse learners. Nora notices and connects.
These are not stories about fixing children. They are stories about understanding them.
Written for ages 4 to 8 and grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis principles, the series gives children language for how their own minds work, and gives the adults who love them a new way to understand what they are already seeing.
Every child belongs.

For ages 4–8. Nora has big ideas and even bigger feelings. When a tough day at school leaves her overwhelmed, she turns to her notebook. What she discovers is a tool she will use for the rest of her life.
Great for: kids who process through writing or drawing, children who feel misunderstood, and parents looking to open conversations about emotions.

For ages 5–9. When Amara notices that her friend does not seem like herself, she is not sure what to do. This story walks children through what it means to be present, to ask the right questions, and to seek help from a trusted adult.
Great for: building empathy and peer support skills, conversations about mental health in child-friendly terms, educators and counselors working with social-emotional learning.

For ages 4–8. Marco cannot sit still, and he is tired of being told to. When a classmate writes down something true about him, that moving is not misbehaving, it is how he learns, Marco starts to see his energy as a strength instead of a problem. This story helps kids who learn by doing understand that the way they move is the way they think.
Great for: active and movement-based learners, kids who are often told to "settle down," parents and teachers reframing fidgeting and high energy as a learning style.

For ages 4–8. Theo does not rush. He thinks things all the way through, even when everyone around him wants him to hurry. When the class faces a problem no one else can solve, Theo's slow, careful way of thinking turns out to be exactly what the moment needs. This story shows children that being thorough is not the same as being behind.
Great for: deep thinkers and careful processors, kids who feel pressured to keep up or fear being wrong, parents and educators supporting children who need more time to do their best work.

For ages 4–8. Today is the first day of something new, and Lily's heart is racing. With big feelings and a busy world around her, she remembers a friend's advice: take a breath first. Using her Power Pause™, Lily learns that scared and brave can happen at the same time. This story gives children a simple, real tool for facing new and overwhelming moments.
Great for: sensitive children and big feelers, kids facing transitions like a new school or new routine, parents and counselors teaching calming and self-regulation strategies.

Calibrated Kids™ music was written to do what no worksheet can: get inside a child's nervous system and give it something useful to hold onto.
Every song in the Aurora Stronghold Calibrated Kids™ catalog is mapped to real emotional states, real challenges, and real tools. Short tracks. Big impact. Designed for the car ride home, the morning routine, and the hard moment after school.

Calibrated Kids™ content is designed to be a bridge, not a burden. These resources are built so caregivers and educators can use them without needing a clinical background.
Calibrated Kids™ was built by Angela R. Strong, CEO and Founder of Calibrated Resilience® LLC, U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer (Ret.), seven-time published author, and mother of three neurodiverse children.
Angela created Calibrated Kids™ because she lived both sides of the equation: raising children who needed more than what the standard resources offered, and understanding behavioral science well enough to build something better.
She is currently completing her RBT certification with plans to pursue BCBA credentialing. Every piece of Calibrated Kids™ content reflects that intersection of lived experience and behavioral science training.
Mrs. Strong, the teacher character in the Calibrated Kids™ series, is modeled on Angela herself.
